Curators
A curator is anyone who creates a basket. Creating one takes minutes (pick components, set the recipe, name it, publish) and earns you a transparent share of every fee your basket generates, for as long as it exists.
Creating a basket
In the Basket Studio (or directly against BasquetFactory):
- Pick components: 2 to 15 tokens from the component registry (official Robinhood stock tokens with live Chainlink feeds; no fakes possible).
- Set the recipe: fixed units of each component per basket token. The studio shows a live NAV preview as you build.
- Name it: name, symbol, description. The symbol isn’t enforced unique onchain; make it memorable.
- Publish: one transaction deploys your basket as an immutable contract. Creation is free at launch.
Once published, the recipe is permanent. You can’t change it, and neither can we; that permanence is exactly why people can trust a basket made by a stranger on the internet.
What you earn
60% of all basket fees, continuously, claimable onchain anytime:
| Fee stream | Launch rate | Your share |
|---|---|---|
| Mint | 0.40% per mint | 0.24% of what is minted |
| Redeem | 0.40% per redeem | 0.24% of what is redeemed |
| Streaming | 0% — disabled at launch | 0.60% / year for every 1% governance enables |
You earn on flow, not on assets. There is no management fee, so a basket that nobody trades earns its curator nothing, however large it is. That cuts both ways and we would rather you know it up front: your income tracks how much people actually use your basket.
A worked example. A basket that attracts €500k of new investment over a year and sees €250k redeemed pays its curator €1,800 (€500k × 0.24% + €250k × 0.24%). Double the flow and you double the fee. A savings plan pointed at your basket is the compounding version of this: one investor decision becomes 52 mint events a year, each one paying you.
Be realistic about the early numbers. Basket sizes today are bounded by how much of each stock token exists onchain, so the first cohort of curators is building a track record and a public profile rather than an income. The 60% share is written into FeeController, capped by code, and claimable forever — it is worth the most to the curators whose baskets are still there when the market is ten times bigger.
Fees are paid in basket tokens (mint) and components (redeem); you’re paid in the thing you curate.
What you can and can’t do
| You can | You can’t |
|---|---|
| Create unlimited baskets | Change a recipe after publishing |
| Earn fees on all of them | Touch investor funds, ever |
| Claim accrued fees anytime | Upgrade or pause your basket |
| Build a public curator profile | Set fees above the protocol caps |
The best fund managers of this era might be a finance YouTuber in Lisbon or a quant hobbyist in Jakarta. The protocol doesn’t care about credentials, only that your recipe is public, your incentives are visible, and your investors can leave at any time.
